Milestones

First semester: POSC 509 + 1 core (523, 526, 571, or 572)

Second semester: Meet advisor; select concentration; continue core

Final semester: POSC 521 + Comprehensive Exam

Advising & Degree Audit

Meet with the graduate advisor for program planning, electives, concentration choice, transfer credit evaluation, and procedures. Required advising happens twice: (1) by your second semester to declare a concentration, and (2) before your final semester for the graduation check.

Capstone & Exam — Student Checklist

  • Verify all core courses are complete before enrolling in POSC 521.
  • Enroll in POSC 521 for your final semester.
  • Prepare for the one-week, take-home comprehensive exam administered within POSC 521.
