MPA ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - GRADUATE
MPA students are invited to apply for the MPA Alumni Scholarship. This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to one graduate student in their first semester (enrolled for at least two courses) who demonstrates both financial need and a strong interest in a public service career.
ALAN SALTZSTEIN EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
Dr. Saltzstein was the head of the MPA program for many years and his legacy is honored with this award. The purpose is to reward excellent academic performance for students after completion of between 6-12 units in the MPA program. The Saltzstein Excellence Scholarship awards $1,000 to students early in their MPA program, typically in their second or third semester. This competitive award is designed to recognize, reward, and encourage our top students as they progress through the program.
LAWSON INTERNSHIP IN PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD
The Lawson Internship in Public Service offers $2000 to MPA students interning in the public or nonprofit sector. This gift is designed to assist students who must forgo other earned income while they get the invaluable experience of a public sector internship. The scholarship/s decision shall be made at the beginning of the academic semester. The PA Internship Coordinator along with the PA Awards Committee shall determine the recipient/s of this award.
SIDNEY BALDWIN AWARD - MPA OUTSTANDING STUDENT
Graduating MPA students. The Baldwin Award is given annually to the outstanding MPA student in the graduating class. The awardee is selected by the Department of Public Administration coordinator and Committee after considering students' academic record, including grades, performance on the comprehensive exams, and contribution to the MPA program. Award: Certificate of recognition
IRVING STONE BEST PAPER AWARD
The Irving Stone Prize is given for the most outstanding essay written during the previous year by an MPA student for a Public Administration course.
SPIRIT OF PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD
The Spirit of Public Service award is given to a graduating MPA student who exhibits a strong sense of public service and involvement.
